november 1 ~ thankful
if you’re a blogger, join me in blogging what you’re thankful for each day of the month. it’s the month of thanksgiving, my personal favorite holiday. i’ve always loved the coziness of the holiday as well as the worship services, the thanksgiving hymns (we gather together, now thank we all our god, and come ye thankful people come) , but it’s such a short holiday, why not stretch it out for an entire month?
this morning, i am thankful for a quiet house for two hours in the dark of the morning. i get up intentionally a few hours earlier than the boys and i cherish this time to read, prepare for the day, make lists, sometimes watch a video, or sit with kenny on the mornings he hasn’t already left for the office. this quiet time prepares me for the raucous hours ahead. once the boys are fully awake, it’s non-stop crafting, running, lego-ing, questions, energy until they fall asleep. i love our crazy days, AND i love my quiet solitudes.
