Friday Favorites…

I shared a few of these on my Facebook Page this week…but if you don’t follow me there, here are my favorite links/stories from the week…

Surround Yourself With More Books Than You Can Possibly Read. I’m excited about this because the library sale was last week and of course I aded a stack of new books to my already unshelved books (because I’m our of shelf space).

A new (youth) Hostel in the Pittsburgh area. I have some great memories staying in hostels in London, Ireland and Scotland when I traveled there in my early 20s.  They’re a great way to cheaply travel the world.  Not luxurious, usually…but definitely communal.  I loved sharing kitchens and rooms with people from around the world.  I hope this new Pittsburgh hostel brings people just like the people I met…

Our local community theater has a children’s workshop January through April every year and this year, our middle son, Sawyer participated.  He landed the role of Hamlet in “Hamlet Hears a Who” and being the Shakespeare snobs that Kenny and I are, we truly enjoyed the performance – and the Suessspeare version of the show.  It’s like watching the Cliffs Notes version on stage instead of reading it.  I dug around and fun that the authors of this version of Hamlet also wrote Suess-ified versions of Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet as well.  I will champion almost any way of getting Shakespeare into kids heads.  This was truly a delight.
