we've been visitng our garden a lot lately, but were surprised yesterday to see actual beans on the pole beans! the boys have been eating all our cherry tomatoes, which are producing two or three red ones a day, and i harvested two broccoli crops. we had a fabulous, organic and local meal yesterday!
(the potatoes aren't ours. i'm determined to grow them next year!). these greens were steamed and sprinkled with just a wee-bit-o-salt, and they were perfect. you didn't even need the salt. and i'm sure we could have done without the steaming... i need to start harvesting and freezing the beans before they get too big. they'll begin to get too dry to eat, and i want tp preserve this goodness for the cold months!

as usual, the older two boys ate every last bit of broccoli and beans. adam ate the potatoes and smoked sausage (dipped in mustard, of course). i need to start sneaking in greens to his food without him noticing....maybe he needs to grow into an appreciation of real food!

Can you post some photos of your garden? I'm committed to doing this next year, but I'd like to see how you've set things up.

Thanks!
