the enemy
this is what we fight every spring, summer, and fall. the deer tick:
that little poppy-seed-sized bug is what gives a human of any size
lyme disease
. we search the boys' every night for the little buggers. until the first snow that sticks. once the snow melts in march, we start the nightly bug-check.
i really don't know what's worse - the bear, or the tick. your thoughts?

[shudder] Personally, I'd rather have an occasional bear.

you don't need a magnifying glass to find a bear! I'd love to see another one (this time with film in the camera!)

yeah, i say the tick is worse. When we lived in Virginia they were terrible and Brandon had to dig about a dozen out of our dog's fur. Then I found one on me and kind of freaked out and afterwards felt like they were all over the house or dog just waiting to jump on me and infect me with their disease. A bear can be fascinating and beautiful, but the tick just makes me feel creepy crawly all over!

You have your work cut out for you!
Granted, now you're trained to look for those ticks. Here, I take them for granted, though we are very susceptible.
